BIOGRAPHIES

Most of the work in the Art Luthiery workshop of Christos Spourdalakis is undertaken by two individuals:
Christos Spourdalakis and Yiannis Katos.

Christos Spourdalakis
was born in 1961 in Piraeus. He became involved in instrument making just after finishing high school. During the same period he also worked as a musician which he continued to do for 13 years until he decided to devote himself exclusively to constructing stringed instruments. He has published a large number of technical articles on the subject.

Yiannis Katos
was born in 1979 in Athens. When he graduated from the Musical High School of Pallini, he began his apprenticeship in the construction of stringed instruments in the workshop of Christos Spourdalakis. With his talent, innovative thinking and remarkable imagination, he quickly managed to improve and expand his knowledge of the field so that today he is considered an exceptionally skilled and gifted instrument maker who is at the same time a mutli-faceted professional musician.
